California AB 1263 Compliance Notice

To our valued customers,

Beginning January 1, 2026, new California legislation, including Assembly Bill 1263 (AB 1263), will impose additional requirements on the sale and delivery of certain firearm-related items to California residents. These requirements apply to specified products, including firearm accessories, firearm manufacturing equipment, and firearm barrels that are not attached to a complete firearm.

AB 1263 requires sellers to:

• Provide specified legal notices and obtain purchaser acknowledgment
• Verify the purchaser’s age and identity (18 years or older)
• Ship only to an address that matches the purchaser’s identification
• Require proof of identification and an adult signature at the time of delivery

Separately, Senate Bill 704 (SB 704) establishes additional rules for certain firearm barrel transactions beginning in 2027, including requirements that some sales or transfers be completed in person through a licensed California firearms dealer.

After careful review of these requirements and their impact on routine transactions, CZ has decided to postpone all direct-to-consumer sales and non-FFL outbound shipments to California for products affected by these laws, effective January 1, 2026.

While framed as regulatory measures, these laws collectively impose additional barriers on lawful firearm ownership and routine maintenance. They significantly alter the nature of ordinary commerce and treat the purchase of common firearm components as something requiring heightened scrutiny and exceptional procedures.

• Direct-to-Consumer Orders: CZ will no longer accept direct online orders shipped to California addresses for affected items.
• FFL Shipments: We will continue to ship products to licensed California Federal Firearms License (FFL) holders, where lawful.
• Dealer-Based Purchases: California customers may work with a local FFL dealer to facilitate purchases of eligible CZ products.

We understand this decision will disappoint some customers, and we regret that California residents are placed in this position.
